WEBA’s OarPowerMeter (OPM) is quick and simple to set-up and easy to use.

It provides a detailed overview of an individual rower’s contribution as well as a picture of how the crew as a whole works together.

Rather than fitting to the rigger or boat, the OPM is installed on the oar or scull shaft (it is interchangeable between disciplines) and uses a clever mix of instruments to output data wirelessly to an app and also to Strava, Garmin etc.

One advantage of being fitted to the oar is that it is easy to switch locations in the boat with no tools required or lengthy need to re-calibrate. You simply move the oar to another seat. So, without having to buy one unit for every station, you can now test rowers in their chosen seat quickly and easily. Cost effective for clubs and programmes with smaller budgets.

Accuracy is around +/- 1% with atmospheric and water conditions automatically accounted for.

Coaches will be able to make decisions based on objective observations of force application, power discrepancies and rigging changes plus much more with the OPM collating the following data:

• Stroke Rate

• Boat Velocity (via phone GPS)

• Distance (via phone GPS)

• Power per stroke (Watts)

• Average Power

• Heart Rate

• Force/Angle graph
